Amazon’s Sneak Peek of the last Artemis Fowl book!

O.M.G. I didn’t know Eoin Colfer was ending the series! D’oh!

Well if you knew or didn’t know, the Artemis Fowl legacy is coming to a close… take a sneak peak on Amazon’s site. You can download the first chapter of “Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian.”

I first started reading Artemis Fowl through audiobooks. I found them so entertaining and fun. I haven’t read the latest book (The Atlantis Complex) but it’s on my queue. I guess I’ll have two to read back-to-back! Artemis is like a modern-day Harry Potter/Bruce Wayne/James Bond hybrid. I absolutely recommend this series to tweens and teens. You could probably say the series caters to boys, but I think it’s fantastic enough for anyone.

Hunger Games Screencap – Star Wars-ish

Is it me or does this remind you of the time when Princess Leia was captured in Star Wars: Episode IV and walking to trade a few insults with Darth Vader?

Friday Five: 2/17/12

Here’s my Friday Five on news that’s been on my mind this week (or month)!

  1. PinterestJen and I have had our Pinterest accounts since last year, and we’ve been Pinning since. It’s a little freaky to see how big this platform has blown up. I guess we’ll have to create a Pop account!
  2. Downton Abbey – This show is probably up my alley. British people suffering, bad teeth, period clothing, and BBC. I’ve got it on my queue but I still have to finish Doctor Who with Matt Smith. I’m almost done!
  3. Live Talks LA with Amy Poehler and Jane Lynch – I had the opportunity to see the two funny women in conversation last weekend, and it was wonderful to hear about Amy Poehler’s life. She and Jane Lynch played off each other so well. Did you miss it? That’s ok – the Bio Channel has the video for streaming!
  4. Gallifrey One – This Doctor Who convention is going on this weekend at the Marriott LAX. Check out their Facebook Page or head over there yourself and meet Jen!
  5. Three-day weekend – I get President’s Day off this year and I’m pretty excited, even though I’ll be doing some work on Monday. I can maybe sort of have a rest day for myself – a solo date!

There you have it! Have a great weekend – live long and prosper! (I watched the Star Trek reboot the other night.)

At Least We Agree On JGL

Last night, Jen and I were at ASSSCAT at UCB. Jen tried to convince me to go a Hello Giggles show. Honestly, I am not a fan of Zooey Deschanel. I kind of can’t stand her. I’m sure she’s a lovely person, blah blah blah. Just not my cup of tea or humor or acting or anything.

At least Jen and I can agree one thing – Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

An oldie but goodie. (Even if ZD is in it.)
